Marv Truhe is the author of Against all Tides: The Untold Story of the USS Kitty Hawk Race Riot. It will be published in hardcover by Lawrence Hill Books in October, 2022, on the 50th anniversary of the incident which is the subject of the book. Marv was a Navy JAG defense lawyer and defended several of the sailors at their Special Courts-Martial trials. This is the story of the incident, the trials, and the racial injustices perpetrated against the Kitty Hawk defendants. The book can be preordered from Amazon Books.
Marv holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Juris Doctorate degree from Northwestern University Law School. His military career included service as a Military Judge, and upon discharge he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Dakota, and then practiced law in Rapid City, South Dakota. Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to Colorado.
