Bonnie Kristian is a theological and political writer with a national following, extensive publication credits, teaching experience in a local church context, and a Master’s degree from Bethel Seminary.
She is the weekend editor at The Week, a syndicated columnist with Rare (Cox Media Group), and a foreign policy fellow at Defense Priorities. Bonnie’s writing has also appeared at other publications, including Time Magazine, Relevant Magazine, Politico, The Hill, and The American Conservative. Her personal blog has a following of more than 115,000 on Tumblr, established organically since 2009. She has been interviewed or profiled by outlets including PBS, National Journal, Business Insider, and The Daily Beast.
Bonnie is active in teaching roles in her church, a Mennonite community where she leads a study group and speaks regularly at Sunday services. She graduated from Bethel in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Christian Thought—a theological studies degree with a special emphasis on engaging culture with the gospel—in preparation for Ph.D. work in theological ethics through the University of Aberdeen.
Bonnie lives with her husband, two dogs, and two guinea pigs in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She keeps busy running, gardening, and fixing up her 100-year-old house.
