Marissa Burt

Marissa is an author, theologian, editor, and teacher. She holds a M.A. in Theology, and her areas of study include church history, the sociology of religion, and Koine Greek. Her five novels for children—Storybound, Story’s End, A Sliver of Stardust, A Legend of Starfire and The Twelve Dares of Christa—are available from HarperCollins publishers. She is currently working on her first non-fiction project, tentatively titled In the Way They Should Go: How the Christian Parenting Empire Shaped a Generation of Evangelicals—and Where We Go from Here (Brazos, 2025). She also co-hosts the At Home With the Lectionary podcast with her husband, Fr. Aaron Burt. Marissa lives in a small town in western Washington with Aaron, six children, two cats, and heaps of books.
