Cristóbal began his filmmaking career in New York City in 1976 after receiving his BFA in Film and Television from New York University. In the years that followed, he worked as a script reader, film editor, writer, and finally director/producer. Krusen later attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he received his MFA in Film Directing. Among his credits as a writer/director are the Spanish language films Ropa Nueva para Felipe (New Clothes for Felipe), ¿Con Quién Te Vas? (With Whom Will You Go?), and Destino Final (Final Destiny).
