Carissa Shillito is an author and illustrator. She earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri with a copywriting emphasis and wrote for print, radio and online marketing at Kansas City’s professional performing arts theatre.
Her family lives on a 120-acre Christian retreat center and welcomes guests to connect with the Lord and fellow believers. Carissa teaches their four sons at home, and when class isn’t in session, she writes, illustrates, and plays the fiddle. She teaches preschool “Cubbies” Wednesday nights at church and is an Upward soccer coach.
Carissa’s first book, Innis and Ernest, will publish with B&H Kids in 2022.
