Bobby Jamieson is a widely respected pastor, scholar, and award-winning author. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Bobby began a career as a jazz saxophonist, obtaining a BM in music performance from the University of Southern California, before redirecting into pastoral ministry, scholarship, and writing. He has MDiv and ThM degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a PhD in New Testament from the University of Cambridge, where he also taught Greek and New Testament. He is currently planting Trinity Baptist Church, a new church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Previously, in addition to teaching for several seminaries, he has served from 2017 to 2024 as an associate pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where he has trained dozens of aspiring pastors who are now serving all over the world. Two recent books of his, The Path to Being a Pastor and Biblical Reasoning, each won a TGC Book of the Year award. Scott Swain, president of Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, has called Biblical Reasoning “a book of generational significance.”
Jamieson combines the spiritual and emotional insight of a pastor, the rigorous thought of a biblical scholar, and the compelling prose of a creative author, which is just the combination needed for tackling life’s biggest question from one of the Bible’s most enigmatic books in his forthcoming work Everything Is Never Enough: Ecclesiastes’ Surprising Path to Resilient
