Kimberly Shumate

During her twelve years with Harvest House Publishers, Kimberly discovered numerous new authors—finding   success with various book deals, Christy nominations and awards, and Publishers Weekly star ratings—many establishing themselves as the fresh and relevant voices within the CBA market in both fiction and nonfiction genres.

In 2009, Kimberly was pleased to launch Living Word Literary Agency where she was unanimously voted into the ECPA. She specialized in first-time authors with heart projects, finding them a home within the publishing community.

In 2010, Kimberly joined George Fox University as an Expert Advisor for Artifact II—that is guiding Ph.D. students through the process of transforming their academic dissertation into a mainstream publishable work. She  designed the template used in the course, and continues to teach students how to find their unique and accessible voice on the page.

Kimberly is a screenwriter whose works have placed in many high profile contests such as Nashville Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, BlueCat, and the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship. As an author, instructor, and speaker, Kimberly finds fulfillment in helping publishers and authors polish passion projects that they will only trust to someone who understands their worth. Along with articles contributed to writer resources such as Writer’s Digest, Kimberly has worked with and written content for publishers such as Koechel Peterson in coordination with Kensington and Simon & Schuster, Ellie Claire, Worthy Media, Multnomah, Focus on the Family, Harvest House, Bridge-Logos, Thomas Nelson, David C Cook, Tyndale, and Zondervan.
