Dr. Daniel Amen is a physician, psychiatrist, teacher and nine-time New York Times bestselling author. He is a board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and the founder of Amen Clinics, Inc., which have six clinics across the country.
Dr. Amen is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is the lead researcher on the world’s largest brain imaging and brain rehabilitation study on professional football players, which not only demonstrated significant brain damage in a high percentage of retired players, but also the possibility for rehabilitation in many with the principles that underlie his work.
Dr. Amen is the author of over 30 books, including the renowned “Daniel Plan” with Pastor Rick Warren and Drs. Mark Hyman and Mehmet Oz. His published scientific articles have appeared in the prestigious journals of Molecular Psychiatry, Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience, Journal of Neurotrauma, American Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Primary Psychiatry, Military Medicine and General Hospital Psychiatry.
Dr. Amen is married to Tana Amen, and is the father of four children. He has five grandchildren, and is an avid table tennis player.
