Besides being Rachel Randolph’s mom, Becky Johnson is the best-selling author, co-author or collaborator of more then forty books covering everything from inspirational humor (with titles like Worms in My Teaand Real Magnolias ) to brain science (with titles like This is Your Brain on Joy). (Some of Becky’s earlier books, still listed on Amazon, are in her former name, Becky Freeman.)
For many years, Becky entertained and shared her heart with audiences of all sizes, in venues from small church retreats to mega-sized events on college campuses. She also wrote a popular column, did hundreds of interviews, and was a humorous storyteller on a segment called Front Porch Stories for Home Life TV.
Becky focuses most of her attention on their large blended family made up of six adult children and their mates, along with five grandsons under age seven.
In 2013 Becky and her daughter Rachel wrote a book together, We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook, which was published by Zondervan. The two blog together at http://welaughwecrywecook.com. Though the mother-daughter duo share much in common, there ARE some differences that are both challenging and comical. Rachel is gifted with organization in the kitchen (loading a dishwasher like a lab scientist) while Becky is a certified “Messy” (loading a dishwasher more like a “drunk monkey”). Rachel is also an avid vegan; Becky can’t yet imagine giving up butter or bacon. However, Rachel’s influence has affected Becky’s cooking, which is more and more “veggie rich.”
They are excited to invite you into their kitchens to enjoy the chick-chat, the laughter, the occasional tear, and always a good recipe for a yummy dish.
