Author News and A Sampling of Recent Sales: Author Beth Lueders to a book with Penguin Praise on the Virginia Tech tragedy called Lifting Our Eyes. It's already been released. Calvin Miller’s Preaching book is a 2007 Gold Medallion Finalist in the Reference category, and it won Preaching Magazine’s “Book of the Year.” Athol Dickson's novel River Rising with Bethany was one of four finalists for the "2006 Christianity Today Fiction Book of the Year" (And it won a 2006 Christy Award). Two Wordserve authors were recently named a finalist for a Christy Award to be presented at the July 2007 ICRS convention in Atlanta. In the Romance category, Marylu Tyndall was nominated for The Redemption (Barbour). Marylu was also a finalist in the 2007 Inspirational Reader's Choice Contest The Redemption in the Long Historical category. And in the Historcal category, Maureen Lang was nominated for Pieces of Silver (Kregeal). The Fall 2006 lead title at Revell Books is a first-person account of Tina Zahn called Why I Jumped, a story that details her miraculous rescue after having literally jumped off the Bay Bridge in Green Bay, Wis., and her recovery from severe Post-Partum Depression. Collaborating on this story is author Wanda Dyson. Tina appeared on "Oprah" October 4th as the main guest on suicide survivors. It was an Oprah Exclusive, with no reviews and no other media being allowed until the book debuted on her show. She followed up her Oprah appearance on "Good Morning America" and other popular shows. Steve Farrar to a four-book contract with David C. Cook, and his wife Mary Farrar to a two-book agreement. Catherine Martin, President of "Quiet Time Ministries" to a new four-book non-fiction deal with Harvest House Publishers. Marylu Tyndall to an exclusive six-book contract with Barbour Publishers.
