Margot, a writer and speaker, would be terribly hard-pressed if she ever had to choose between the two roles. She is the author of a spiritual memoir, The Girl In The Orange Dress: Searching for a Father Who Does Not Fail (InterVarsity Press, 2009), and a book that's sort of about body image (even though she hates that phrase), Unsqueezed: Springing Free from Skinny Jeans, Nose Jobs, Highlights and Stilettos (InterVarsity Press, 2010).

Margot is the confessions editor of Geez Magazine's "Sinner's Corner." (And what could possibly be more wonderful than that fun thing?) You might have seen her work in print and online at Relevant, Neue, Today's Christian Woman, Kyria, Rev!, Fine Homebuilding, Family Fun, Focus on the Family, Adoptive Families, Relief, Susie and New Christian Voices.

Margot is represented by WordServe Literary and Speak Up Speaker Services. She is also a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association).

Margot received her degree in art from Westmont College in 1991. She worked with Urban Promise ministry in Camden, New Jersey before pursuing the Master's of Divinity degree she earned from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1995.

Margot is pretty convinced that embracing who we truly are – God's beloved – and behaving as if others are too – living love– (especially among the poor and marginalized) is who we're made to be. Reason: God's "I am for you" cannot be separated from God's "I am for her" and "I am for him."

Adopted as an infant, Margot was reunited with her birth mother at the age of twenty-two. Today she enjoys relationships with her birth mother and her adoptive parents.

Margot lives in the Walltown neighborhood of Durham, North Carolina with her husband Peter and their three marvelously-made children.
