Jim Nelson Black

Jim Nelson Black is founder and senior analyst of Sentinel Research Associates and former executive director of The Wilberforce Forum, a Christian worldview institute in Washington, DC.. An author, educator, and researcher, he has written six books on social and cultural issues, and has served as editor, writer, or collaborator on more than forty others with public figures and religious leaders.

Jim is a member of the National Association of Scholars and a former university professor in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to Freefall of the American University, he’s the author of When Nations Die, which analyzed signs of decadence in great empires of the past. His collaborations include several bestsellers, including Saddam’s Secrets with General Georges Sada and From Power to Purpose with Senator Sam Brownback.

Jim earned his Ph.D. in comparative literature in the University of Texas system, and completed doctoral studies at the Sorbonne, in Paris, where he was awarded the vermeil medal of the Société Academique Arts–Sciences–Lettres. He has appeared on more than 400 radio and television broadcasts, and speaks on current events and other cultural issues from a Christian perspective.
